On September 21^st, 2005, the opening ceremony of China (Wuxi)International Textile and Clothing Fair was held at New World InternationalTextile and Garment City that located by the shore of Tai Lake. Around500 textile and clothing enterprises from Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, etc.gather in Wuxi seeking for business opportunities. During the Fair, the firstphase of construction of New World International Textile and Garment City, whichenjoys an investment of 4 billion yuan from Shenzhen New World Group and with abuilding area of 1.3 million square meters, made its debut and attracted theattention of domestic and overseas merchants. The main venue of the Fair waslocated at the built textile trading area inside New World InternationalTextile and Garment City.

The Fair is co-hosted by Wuxi Municipal People’s Government, Jiangsu TextileIndustry Association, and Branch of China Council for Promotion ofInternational Trade of Textile Industry, and China Textile Information Center. Itis one of the significant activities of “Taihu Fair and Business &Economics Festival”.  All booths (about1000) of this fair were booked by merchants from all over the country veryquickly.

Wuxi New World International Textile and Garment City -the “base camp” of this Fairwas invested and built by Shenzhen New World Group, the whole project covers anarea of nearly 1000mu (about 650,000 square meters), building area is up to 1.3million square meters. In order to built this “super carrier”  of textile and clothing trading, New WorldGroup invited the internationally renowned architectural designing company L．L．A to do the designing and planning work ,and to build a trading platform of textile and garment which combines trading patternslike spot wholesale, orders wholesale, regional agents, franchise chain and onlinetrading; and a comprehensive industrial service base which combines logistics,e-commerce, technical exchange, talents exchange, trend release and tourism.

It is learned that, Textile and Garment City planned to build more than 30,000textile and garments units, while completed, it can house around ten thousandmerchants to run business at the same building and the same time. It willbecome the world’s biggest distributing centre of textile and garments, and theinternational trading center of textile and garments where the procurement ismost effective and with the lowest procurement cost. The annual turnover isexpected to exceed RMB 20 billion. At present, the first-phase textile productarea which covers an area of 96,000 square meters has been built.

Bornand raised in Shenzhen, Shenzhen New World Group has developed many projects successfullyin Shenzhen. Wuxi New World International Textile and Garment City is the firstsuper huge project developed by New World Group after “walking out of Shenzhen”.Insiders pointed out that, after showing its strength in real estate industry,New World Group is most likely to play an important role in helping Chinesetextile enterprises to win the “discourse power” in global textile market.

Grand Opening of the “2007 China (Wuxi) International Textile and Clothing Fair”

On October 28^th, the 2007 China (Wuxi) International Textile andClothing Fair started grandly in Wuxi New World International Textile andGarment City. Wuxi New World International Textile and Garment City is built byShenzhen New World Group with an investment of 4million yuan. It enjoys a building area of 1.3 million square meters, and it isthe biggest wholesale center all over the world.

It is learned that, this Textile and Clothing Fair has invited guests andmerchants from textile industry of nearly 60 countries including Italy, France,USA, Japan, Korea and Russia to attend the fair. The exhibition area reached30,000 square meters. There were 6600 booths, gathering textile and garment industrialclusters and famous enterprises from all over the country.

Branded clothing, popular fabric and accessories and home textiles at home and abroadwill be fully displayed at this year’s Textile and Clothing Fair, besides,series professional BBS and cultural fashion events such as “Fashion DesignContest of China (Wuxi) International Textile and Clothing Fair 2007”, “BBS ofChinese Clothing Brand Development”, “China-Europe Textile and ClothingCooperation Conference”, “Brand Fashion Show” are held at the same time.
