Yesterday afternoon, municipal civilization office, municipal care office and a newspaperjointly invited the head of 26 Shenzhen real estate enterprises to hold asymposium themed “special zone is of one mind with disaster area—a symposiumthat Shenzhen real estate industry mourns victims of the earthquake”, and setup Shenzhen Real Estate Disaster Relief Alliance to contribute money and laborfor the reconstruction of the disaster area. The subscription reached RMB44,700,000 and will all be used for the construction of post-disaster housing.

The above mentioned 26 real estate companies include Shenzhen New World, LII,Galaxy Group, Excellence Group, GCIG, Worldunion, Vanke, OCT, China OverseasLand & Investment Ltd., Rongchao, Hongrongyuan, Kaisa, Lvgem, ChinaMerchants Bank, Kingkey, Sinolink, Gemdale, COFCO, Hazens,Liantai, Diye, Coastal group, Sun Hope, Yitian Group, etc. Zheng Dawei, generalmanager of Shenzhen New World said that, Huangwei, President of New World Groupand executive vice chairman of the board of directors of Hong Kong CommercialDaily will donate 10million personally to support the upcoming “Construction ofpost-disaster housing for  Aba Tibetan and QiangAutonomous Prefecture-the seriously-stricken area of Wenchuan Earthquake” and became the largestsingle grant of yesterday.

Commissioned by Wang Jingsheng, Municipal Standing Committee, Minister of Propaganda,Secretary of Municipal Care Committee, the symposium is chaired by Office chiefof Municipal Care Committee and the director of a newspaper. He said on thesymposium that, real estate development enterprises has played an importantrole in urban construction of Shenzhen. During the relief work forreconstruction of disaster area that affected by Wenchuan Earthquake, some realestate enterprises react very fast and contribute a lot to help the reliefwork. This has been highly recognized by the society. Currently, reconstructionof disaster areas has become the priority of relief work. After WenchuanEarthquake, many developers and real estate development enterprises, agentsdonated supplies and construction of schools according to their industries. Realestate enterprises took part in the symposium yesterday agreed thatreconstruction of the disaster area should be proceed on an ongoing basis,while this shows enterprises’ respect for lives, it is also their incumbentsocial responsibility. Shenzhen real estate industry should response to thatcall actively and contributes money and labor for the reconstruction ofdisaster area.

When the real estate enterprises knew that Shenzhen is about to launch thesupporting plan of temporary housing for Aba Prefecture, they all respondedactively: Excellence Group donated RMB 5million, Galaxy Group RMB 6millon, LvgemGroup donated another RMB 2million, Hazens donated another RMB 2million anddonated RMB 3 million for the construction of schools in disaster area.

The symposium began at 2 PM yesterday and was temporary interrupted at 2:28PM, atwhich time every participant pay silent tribute to earthquake victims towardsthe direction of disaster area.
